THE PROJECT
For this new construction project in Mantua, we worked closely with architect Tenca to integrate the window and door system into the design from the very beginning. The Zero system was designed in conjunction with the window opening: the screen and shading system are seamlessly integrated, and the exterior white sheet metal reveal becomes the glass edge. No visible exterior frame, no interior trim, and the sash is coplanar with the wall.

THE WINDOWS
The window opening dimensions are measured at the primary joint. Zero eliminates the need for fasteners and structural elements within the frame’s thickness: maximum possible clear opening, the glass size spans the entire architectural opening, thermal continuity at the joint, and a coplanar interior without interruptions. Among the details that characterize this project are the all-glass corner joint with a metal splay and the concealed drip edge beneath the sill—elements that demonstrate how technical and aesthetic results stem from construction details.

THE INSIDE
The oiled fir door panel closes flush with the wall, without trim, glazing beads, or bevels. The fit is perfectly flush: the door disappears into the wall, leaving room for light and the material itself. The natural oil finish highlights the grain of the fir while keeping VOC emissions close to zero.
