THE EXHIBITION
The exhibition brings together the projects taking part in the 29th edition: products, services, systems and research. ‘Zen essenziale’ is on display in the ‘Design of Materials and Technological Systems’ section.
Its inclusion in the ADI Design Index 2025, on 15 October 2025, has placed ‘Zen essenziale’ amongst the nominees for the 2026 ADI Compasso d’Oro Award.
The Award was established in 1954 based on an idea by Gio Ponti. Its Historical Collection, housed at the ADI Design Museum in Milan, has been recognised by the Ministry of Culture since 2004 as an ‘asset of exceptional artistic and historical interest’.

THE CONCEPT
The heat-treated outer edge, removable and secured with hidden screws, is the only visible part of Zen essenziale. Inside, there are no bevels or trim pieces: the sash closes directly onto the frame using hidden joints and dowels. Four weatherstripping seals and a layered construction of hardwood, high-density cork, and heat-treated ash.
Certified by the Passive House Institute with Uf < 0.9 W/m²K.
